We honour each resident as they leave us. Our staff and family members form a guard of honour as the resident leaves their room for the last time. Having had the privilege to get to know the person and their families, we offer a procession that is both personal and meaningful to the family. A favourite song chosen by the family or resident is played as they leave us and often they may have with them a momento that is meaningful to accompany them; an example of this may be a photograph, or a favourite flower. Staff and Volunteers then lead the hearse ahead of the family to the end of our driveway and wave goodbye. It is this last moment with us that many families appreciate as a sacred and loving farewell.
