The Home

The emphasis at Hopewell is on living as full a life as possible in a home-like environment.  Families, friends and pets are welcomed and encouraged to become part of the Hopewell family.

All Residents are welcome to fashion their room to their own liking.  This may involve, pictures and paintings or any other personal items.  All electrical items need to be safety tagged before use in the Hospice.  If this is difficult for you to organise, it can be arranged through Reception.  Please feel free to help your loved one to make him/her as comfortable as possible. Our friendly staff and volunteers will be happy to assist you in the creation of a home away from home.

Each bedroom and bathroom has a call button that can be used to summon a staff member for assistance.  Staff will respond as soon as possible however there may be a delay if attending to a prior call.

The dining room and lounge area is the place where we all come together.  Staff, volunteers, residents, friends and families alike, here we sit, here we chat and here we share laughter and joy.  We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or anything else that calls for a party.  You are part of this beautiful Hopewell community and we welcome you to join us. Our welcoming kitchen staff often organise home made morning teas and there is a regular monthly BBQ lunch.

Our healing gardens have been landscaped to provide a tranquil environment.  We can assist you to connect with nature if you are unable to enjoy the winding paths, or find your way to the beautiful ponds.

"What grows in a garden is not just plants but the human spirit itself.  It makes community happen."  (Matthew Fox)
